A History of Trust and Leadership Larry Gossett was born here, raised here, educated here, worked here, is raising his family here, and leads here. He has defined a new brand of leadership: patience with people, and impatience with bureaucratic systems that don't work for people. His commitment is lifelong; his hard work is year-round. Larry Gossett sees his job as needing to be smarter with the public's money and what people expect government to do. Larry has served as the Chair of the King County Council's Law, Justice & Human Services Committee (2002-2003) and the Budget & Fiscal Management Committee (2004-2006). He is now the Chair of the King County Council. Larry Gossett is a man of uncommon commitment to social change. Larry has been an active partner in every major social movement for people of color, women, youth, elderly, gays and lesbians, and working families throughout the community for nearly four decades. His name is synonymous with the struggle for equality and justice in Seattle.
